Learn from a panel of experts how Smart City technology can positively impact the urban experience and improve sustainability outcomes.

The Smart City Institute (SCI) will be present in Austin City - Texas along with a Belgian delegation to attend the major event South by South West (SXSW), which will take place from 10 to 19 March.  In parallel to the event, SCI researcher Audrey Lebas will share her expertise at the panel organised by Innovation Bridge Europe and Digicity on Sunday 12 March.

Smart city technology has the potential to positively impact the urban experience in an equitable way while also reducing carbon emissions and increasing energy savings. Join a panel of experts who will present unique perspectives on how to ethically deploy smart technology, the considerations that need to be made, and how to realistically incentivize innovation and entrepreneurial approaches.

Event Logistics

  • This panel is an official SXSW event through an official SXSW partner. RSVP is required but you do not need a SXSW badge to attend.
  • This event will take place at Wax Myrtle in the Thompson Hotel at 506 San Jacinto. When you arrive, enter the hotel lobby, go through the lobby to the elevator banks at the back of the room, choose the 4th Floor (Wax Myrtle) and event staff will direct you to the venue.
