As the Smart Region academic referent and in order to support the winning municipalities and inter-municipal authorities of the Walloon Region's call for Intelligent Territory projects (2019) in achieving their objectives, the Smart City Institute (SCI) is organising a series of workshops from 22 September to 25 October 2021, specifically designed for them.

Discovering the SPMM: how can this tool help me to successfully implement and develop my Smart Territory project?

In December 2020, the Smart City Institute published its "Smart Project Management Model (SPMM)": a methodological tool to structure and manage your project efficiently, while integrating the 'Smart' side. With this model, the aim is to make innovative projects flourish, while relying on the collective intelligence and participation of the various stakeholders, with a logic of sustainability. The Smart Project Management Model is therefore a tool to be used throughout the planning and implementation of the project, but also afterwards, to evaluate, adjust and refine it as it progresses.

Thus, as part of its mission as Smart Region referent, the SCI has set up a series of workshops based on this SPMM model. Through these workshops, the objective is to support the winning municipalities of the call for Intelligent Territory projects in the management of their approaches, in particular by helping them to define their monitoring indicators (an obligation specified in the call).

Moreover, these workshops will complement the new Smart City Practical Guide - Volume 5, dedicated to the monitoring and evaluation of Smart City projects, published in September 2021.
