On April 14, the Smart City Institute will have the pleasure to take part in the 5th edition of the NumériQC Week, organized by Québec Numérique over 6 days (April 9 to 16, 2021).

April 14 - Intelligent cities, what's it all about? Round table discussion in Francophonie on the subject

Interviews and exchanges between Quebec, France and Belgium with Pierre-Luc Lachance, Constance Nebbula and Nathalie Crutzen, Director of the Smart City Institute.

How can we avoid "techno-solutionist" excesses and keep human beings at the heart of this transformation? As mentioned by Professor Vincent Mosco in The Smart City in a Digital World: "Smart cities are not just about the development and application of technologies that can improve urban life. They are also about who governs cities, who profits, and who is left out. "Mosco, 2019).

About the NumériQC Week

The programming of the numériQC Week is open to a wide range of digital-related industries. During six days of events, professionals and businesses can exchange on current themes, such as :

  • government innovations
  • the next generation in intelligence and data
  • health technology of the future
  • digital culture
  • innovation in insurance
  • smart cities and e-tourism
  • e-trade
  • cyber security
  • augmented and virtual reality
  • artificial intelligence

The online lectures, panels and workshops will be presented in different ways: some lectures will be pre-recorded, others will be broadcast live. There will also be networking slots for up to 12 participants.

Target audience: Digital enthusiasts, professionals and general public.
