Biography

Dr. Jessica Clement is a senior research associate at the Smart City Institute at HEC Liège Management School, where she researches public policies and strategies for sustainable and smart territorial transitions. She also works on the BOLSTER project (Bridging Organizations and marginalized communities for Local Sustainability Transitions in EuRope), which aims to understand how marginalized communities are affected by European Green Deal (EGD)-related policies and to see whether involving them in decision-making processes increases the support for transition plans.

Jessica earned a PhD in economics, which focused on institutional political economy, in 2018 from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She previously held a postdoctoral position at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where she collaborated with the International Resource Panel to contribute to reports on natural resource management and the governance of extractive industries. She also helped organize the World Resources Forum (WRF) 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland.
